Cystitis
Urinary tract infection is caused by a microorganism that has passed through the urethra into the bladder and has found the appropriate conditions to multiply and cause inflammation. Sexually active, pregnant and menopausal women are more susceptible. Most women will suffer at least once cystitis in their lives. Some get one even 4-5 times a year. During urination, the woman may experience acute pain in the urethra or pressure and pain very low in the abdomen. She may have an almost constant urge to urinate. That’s why she goes to the toilet often and urinates only a few drops. She may also show a small increase in temperature. Sometimes the urine may be pink or red because it contains blood or it might be smelly.
