The visualization technique for relaxation in pregnancy and childbirth

Ιt is said that 20 minutes of relaxation is equivalent to 3 hours of sleep.  Try to breathe, if possible from the nose, rhythmically, abdominally and with prolonged exhalation, a little longer in duration than inhalation.

By practising your breathing, you can visualise images or say some phrases with a positive message (mantra).

For example, I think of a sandy, blue beach and I leave all my senses to participate. I feel the breeze caressing my hair, the warm sand on my feet, smelling the sea and listening to the gentle splash of water. Or I envision a joyful family moment, a kiss or an embrace, a place where I have been, or I want to be. I imagine a colour that I like, and as I inhale, it enters my belly, surrounds my baby and goes with every breath to various parts of my body. I breathe and tell myself that I am relaxed and calm. I exhale and say that my mind and my body work together as a unit to bring my baby to my world. I inhale and take energy from a superior spiritual power. I exhale and become one with the earth.

What you put in your mind also affects your body. In our minds, we imagine the things we want to happen in reality. Allow yourself to imagine anything that makes you feel calm and safe. Empty your mind from thoughts and concentrate only on your breathing.

Practice visualisation during pregnancy. Be prepared for your labour, where this technique it will help you relax.
